Flight is booked!
28.12.2011
Ok, I accomplished the hardest step which is booking my ticket. I had a minor meltdown the other night because I was randomly looking up flights and found a round trip flight to Manila for barely over $1,000. And then I began to think, "Wow, I can buy this now. I have enough credit on my card to purchase it." And then it weirdly escalated to me worrying about not having enough money, coming back unemployed, and being totally uncertain about my future. So I started to blast the song We Are Young by Fun. feat Jannelle Monae. Then the next morning I asked Dana for advice and she told me everything that I needed to hear and be supportive of my plans. Mainly that I'm young, I don't know if I can ever do a trip like this again in my life, and that I'll have the rest of my life to get a job and grow up and be an adult. It was everything that I needed to hear.
So I bought the flight a little more than an hour ago and I am spending about 6 weeks in Asia, arriving a week and a half before my best friend Carmela's wedding. I'm staying with Carmela for a week in the Philippines, then staying with my family for a few days, and then leaving to meet my sister Kim on a backpacking adventure through Cambodia, Thailand, China, Japan, South Korea, and then back to the Philippines to stay at a resort on the gorgeous island of Boracay where we'll swim with sharks and do other adventurous things. So I'm never alone and Kim and I aren't the best of friends, but it will be an adventure and hopefully I don't get human trafficked.
I have 6 months to save money for my trip, money for when I return, pay for wedding stuff since I'm in it, and my trip to Europe at the end of March. I basically just want to be broke and travel and have a really sexy passport with stamps.
I'm excited!!!!

Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked. I listened this song to a lot before I left for Norway.
